April 5, 2008: Saito and Knox-Johnston awarded Orders of Merit

Last night the two annual order's of Merit issued by the Ocean Cruising Club were awarded to Minouru Saito, the 72 year old Japanese sailor who particpated in 3 BOC/Around Alone races as well as making 4 other solo circumnavigations, and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who participated in the most recent of the series, the 2006/7 Velux5Oceans.


RKJ was also awarded the Jester Medal for hios 500,000 miles of sailing, much of it single handed.
